Clark supporter predicts voting lines to last past 8 p.m.
One supporter of Rep. Fred Clark showed up minutes ago for party prep and said he just voted at the Portage Municipal Building. He said the line at the polling place for some wards was at least a half hour long, and he didn't expect those in line to circulate through by the 8 p.m. closing time. Voters who are in line before 8 p.m. will be allowed to cast their votes.
He arrived as volunteers were getting things set up at Clark's party at the Best Western in Portage.
Three TVs are set up in the hotel's conference room to show results when they start rolling in, and about 40 chairs are set up in a semi-circle facing a podium with a Clark yard sign on it. A half dozen tables are set up in the back of the room, and media have grabbed spots at those. At least four TV trucks are parked outside.
