GOP senators facing recall raise more than $660K in July
The six GOP state senators facing recall raised $663,743 last month.
Reports for the candidates in those six races were due at midnight, but reports for the Dem challengers hadn’t been posted at the Government Accountability Board’s site by early this morning. The final reports before next Tuesday’s election covered July 1 through July 25.
The candidates in the Dem races set for Aug. 16 face a filing deadline of next week.
Here’s a summary of the numbers:
*Rob Cowles, R-Green Bay, raised $64,825, spent $29,826 and had $98,817 cash on hand. For the year, he’s raised $166,966.

*Alberta Darling, R-River Hills, raised $165,155, spent $431,108 and had $135,439 cash on hand. For the year, she’s raised more than $1.1 million.

*Sheila Harsdorf, R-River Falls, raised $106,448, spent $151,068 and had $97,343 cash on hand. For the year, she’s raised $434,181.

*Luther Olsen, R-Ripon, raised $64,744, spent $37,969 and had $97,432 cash on hand. For the year, he’s raised $171,856.

Dem Rep. Fred Clark’s report wasn’t posted at the site, but the GAB sent WisPolitics.com a copy yesterday. It shows he raised $67,750, spent $163,401 and had $67,455 cash on hand. For the year, he’s raised $294,252.

*Randy Hopper, R-Fond du Lac, raised $106,103, spent $3,463 and had $195,101 cash on hand. For the year, he’s raised $332,811.
