Fitzgerald raises $77,685, trails GOP rivals
Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald raised $77,685 during the fourth quarter of 2011 for his U.S. Senate bid, according to his campaign.
Fitzgerald, R-Horicon, also spent $4,932 and had $72,753 cash on hand.
Fitzgerald's fundraising significantly trails fellow GOP contenders Tommy Thompson and Mark Neumann. Thompson's campaign says he raised $656,504 in the three-month period and ended 2011 with $544,212 cash on hand. Meanwhile, Neumann's campaign says he raised $518,000.
U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin, the only Dem in the race, significantly outraised them all for the period, pulling in $1.1 million and ending the year with $1.8 million cash on hand.
