And they're off ...
The polls have officially opened in today's historic statewide recall election between Gov. Scott Walker and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
Polls opened at 7 a.m. today and close at 8 p.m.
Barrett and Walker both planned to vote first thing this morning, Barrett in Milwaukee and Walker in Wauwatosa.
Barrett will then make campaign stops in Racine and Milwaukee before his Election Night party in Milwaukee.
Walker planned stops in Green Bay and Wausau before heading to Waukesha for his Election Night party.
Voters in four state Senate districts also have choices to make today:
- Senate District 13: Senate GOP Leader Scott Fitzgerald vs. Dem recall organizer Lori Compas
- SD 21: GOP Sen. Van Wanggaard vs. former Dem Sen. John Lehman
- SD 23: Sen. Terry Moulton, R-Chippewa Falls, vs. former Dem Rep. Kristen Dexter
- SD 29: Rep. Jerry Petrowski, R-Marathon, vs. Rep. Donna Seidel, D-Wausau
