New Hovde TV ad attacks Thompson on insurance mandate
A new television ad from Eric Hovde attacks former Gov. Tommy Thompson for comments that indicated support for the health care reform law.
The 30-second TV ad, entitled "TommyCare," begins with a narrator saying "Tommy Thompson is just wrong on ObamaCare. Listen to his own words."
The ad then quotes President Barack Obama listing Thompson among supporters of the law. The ad then jumps to footage of Thompson saying the individual mandate is "alright" before pivoting back to Obama's name drop of Thompson. It then jumps to footage of Thompson saying during an interview that "when it's all said and done, you're not going to be able to repeal health care."
"Gov. Thompson may not fight to repeal Obamacare," Hovde says, appearing on camera near the end of the ad. "I will."
