Walker touts 'cheesehead on the ballot'
Gov. Scott Walker handled the introductions for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan.
"Isn't it great to have a cheesehead on the ballot?" Walker said.
Walker said Romney made a "big and bold" decision in picking Ryan for his running mate.
The decision showed Romney "is not only experienced to lead this country, but has the courage to lead this country," Walker said.
"On November 6 we're going to claim a victory not just for Wisconsin, but hardworking taxpayers all across America," Walker said.
He pointed to Romney's work in turning around the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.
RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said the election is "this generation's rendezvous with destiny."
He said in choosing Ryan, Romney showed he plans on governing the way he campaigned.
U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson said Romney and Ryan complement each other. "They understand faith and family comes first."
"What's another name for the ticket of Romney and Ryan?" he asked. "It's called a winning ticket, and you folks are going to make it happen."
