New Tammy ad hits Thompson for opposing 'Buffett Rule'
A new TV ad from U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin highlights her sponsorship of the so-called "Buffett Rule" and slams U.S. Senate challenger Tommy Thompson's opposition to the measure.
The 30-second TV ad, titled "Rules," begins with Baldwin saying she doesn't believe there should be two different sets of rules: "One for the wealthy and one for the rest of us."
She then highlights her role in the crafting the so-called Buffett Rule, which would require millionaires to pay a minimum tax rate of 30 percent. She then chastises Thompson for opposing the measure.
"And he's proposed even more tax breaks for millionaires," Baldwin says. "But his plan would raise taxes on the middle class. That's just wrong."
Baldwin ends her ad by saying "Wisconsin needs a senator who'll stand up for you."
