New "Women Vote!" ad targets Thompson for trying to "fatten his wallet"
A new ad from EMILY's List PAC "Women Vote!" targets former Gov. Tommy Thompson for his ties to lobbying firms in Washington and says he's "changed a lot."
The 30-second TV ad, titled "Wallet," begins with two women saying they voted for Thompson, with the first woman adding that she "can't vote for him now, he's changed."
"Since leaving Wisconsin, Tommy sold his influence and connections to firms who would benefit on Capitol Hill, to, quote, 'fatten his wallet,'" the narrator says.
The ad then returns to the female voters and one man, who says once you make deals with firms like those, "You owe 'em."
The ad ends with Thompson's comment that "We went to Washington to change Washington, and Washington changed us."
