Romney promises more than 240,000 new Wisconsin jobs in first state TV ad
Mitt Romney promises to create more than 240,000 new jobs in Wisconsin in his first TV ad of the campaign to run in the state.
The spot opens with video of Romney at the Republican National Convention.
“This president can ask us to be patient. This president can tell us it was someone else’s fault,” Romney says. “But this president cannot tell us that you’re better off today than when he took office.”
A narrator then says, “Here in Wisconsin, we’re not better off under President Obama. There’s a prairie fire of debt that grows over $3 billion each day.”
The ad then touts “The Romney Plan for Wisconsin,” promising to cut government spending, eliminate the deficit and create more than 240,000 new jobs in Wisconsin.
The ad does not include a time frame for the jobs pledge, which mirrors the one Gov. Scott Walker made in his 2010 campaign to create 250,000 new jobs in the state by the end of his first term.
