Ryan polling memo: Janesville Republican has 25-point lead on Zerban in 1st CD
Paul Ryan had a 25-point lead on his 1st CD Dem challenger Rob Zerban in a new poll done for his congressional campaign.
The survey found 58 percent of respondents backed Ryan, while 33 percent supported Zerban, according to the memo from Public Opinion Strategies.
By comparison, Ryan led Zerban 63-29 in a July poll done by the same firm in the weeks before the Janesville Republican was tapped for the GOP presidential ticket.
The new poll, done Sunday and Monday, found 61 percent of district voters had a favorable opinion of Ryan. The memo says that is unchanged from before he became the GOP’s vice presidential nominee.
The poll of 400 likely voters in the 1st CD had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points.
