Baldwin hits back at Thompson on 9/11 in new ad
A new TV ad from Tammy Baldwin calls a Tommy Thompson spot accusing her of not supporting 9/11 victims "a disgrace," and charges Thompson profitted off of contracts designed to aid the attack's victims.
The 30-second ad, titled "Boss," begins with a narrator calling Thompson's ad "a disgrace," while saying that Baldwin has supported 9/11 victims multiple times in Congress. The chryon on the screen then displays several bills honoring 9/11 victims that she voted for from 2001 to 2011, with the exception of the 2006 bill for which she was targeted.
The ad then focuses on Thompson's role in 9/11.
"He got a government contract to provide health care to 9/11 first responders," the narrator says. "But Tommy took advantage, leaving them without the care they were promised. Tommy Thompson personally made over $3 million of the deal."
The ad ends with the narrator saying "Tommy Thompson should be ashamed" as the tagline of "He's not for you anymore" appears in the background.
