Baldwin raised $4.6 million in third quarter

Dem Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin raised nearly $4.6 million during the third quarter, more than double what Tommy Thompson says he pulled in.

Thompson has said in media interviews he raised about $2 million during the July through September period. But his campaign has not confirmed the number.

A Baldwin spokesman released her fundraising number this morning. Campaign finance reports for the third quarter are due today.

UPDATE: Some more numbers from the Baldwin camp.

The average donation for the period was $46.11, she raised $3.58 million since the Aug. 14 primary and had just less than $3.5 million cash on hand at the end of the period.
