DCCC pulling out of 8th CD
The DCCC is pulling out of the 8th CD race between freshman GOP Rep. Reid Ribble and Dem challenger Jamie Wall, according to a TV source.
The source told WisPolitics.com the Dem group pared back its current ad buy that runs through Sunday and canceled the additional time it had previously reserved. The DCCC will go dark on Monday.
A DCCC spokeswoman did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.
The move follows the NRCC’s decision to drop its ad buys in the race. The GOP group is on the air this week, but canceled buys scheduled for the following two weeks.
UPDATE: DCCC spokeswoman Haley Morris said, "DCCC believes Jamie is well positioned in WI-08 -- he is running a strong campaign and has the resources to show voters he is the only candidate who can overcome the partisan divide in D.C. and protect Medicare."
Wall and Ribble both remain on the air in the Green Bay market.
