Kreitlow poll: Duffy holds slim lead in 7th CD

A poll released today by former state Sen. Pat Kreitlow's congressional campaign shows U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy edging the Chippewa Falls Dem by 3 percentage points.

The survey of 509 likely voters in the 7th Congressional District on Sept. 25-26 showed Duffy, R-Weston, with a 44-41 lead.

That split included 6 percent of respondents that leaned toward each candidate; without leaners, the margin favored Duffy 38-35. Fifteen percent of respondents were undecided.

Duffy's lead was within the margin of error of plus-or-minus 4.4 percentage points.

The memo from Kreitlow's pollster -- Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & Associates -- also indicated that Kreitlow's favorability rating rose from 10 percent in April to 24 percent in the latest poll, while Duffy's unfavorables increased from 27 percent in the spring survey to 37 percent this time around.
