New Thompson ad claims Baldwin 'lying,' to the left of Pelosi and Obama

A new ad from Tommy Thompson's campaign attacks Tammy Baldwin for supporing middle-class tax hikes and claiming that her tax policies put her to the left of President Obama and Nancy Pelosi.

The 30-second ad, titled "Lying", begins a narrator saying "Tammy Baldwin and her allies are lying about Tommy Thompson." The screen then displays a quote next to Baldwin's face noting that PolitiFact called one of the claims "false." The claims were made by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in a separate ad.

The ad then shows Tommy with voters while noting Thompson created jobs, gave tax cuts and started BadgerCare "for families in need."

"Baldwin supports a massive middle-class tax increase that President Obama says would be devastating," the narrator says.

The ad then shows Obama at a press conference saying "If that had come to pass, the average middle class family would have had to pay an extra $3,000 in taxes next year."

Obama's comments were made during the signing of a bill that extended the Bush-era tax cuts past 2010.

The ad ends with the narrator saying "Too liberal for Pelosi and Obama, too liberal for Wisconsin."
