Pro-Tammy group rips Thompson on Medicare and Medicaid comments
A pro-Tammy Baldwin group, Majority PAC, today is launching a new ad ripping Republican Tommy Thompson for controversial remarks on Medicaid and Medicare.
The ad, "Who Better Than Me," highlights Thompson's controversial remarks about Medicaid and Medicare at a June meeting of a Tea Party group in Oconomowoc.
The ad shows images of individuals and families as a female narrator says, ``If you want to know what Tommy Thompson is going to do to Wisconsin families, just ask him.''
Then there's black-and-white footage of Thompson saying: ``Who better than me ...to do away with Medicaid and Medicare.''
After charging Thompson is going to give tax breaks to corporations at the expense of the middle class, the narrator adds: ``So who said Thompson is going to get rid of Medicare? Thompson did. And who better than us to stop him.''
The ad ends with white type on a black background and the words, ``Stop Thompson.''
