Rasmussen finds 49-all tie in presidential race
The latest poll from Rasmussen Reports has President Obama and Mitt Romney tied at 49 percent each.
The firm's last poll a week ago had it 50-48 for Obama.
The latest poll found 1 percent of respondents back another candidate, while 2 percent were undecided.
The two were tied among independents at 47 percent each, while Romney was favored 50-44 on who voters trusted more on the economy and Obama had a 48-47 edge on national security.
The automated phone survey of 500 likely voters was conducted Thursday and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.
