SEIU ad targets Thompson for connections to 'big oil,' pharma corporations
A TV ad from the Service Employees International Union hits at Tommy Thompson for his connections to oil and drug companies, alleging that he will serve them in the Senate rather than the Wisconsin people.
The 30-second TV ad starts by showing shots of oil derricks and pharmaceutical companies while "On Wisconsin" plays in the background.
"If this is who you think our senator should be fighting for, then Tommy Thompson is your man," the narrator says. "After all, he's still theirs."
The ad then mentions his connection to a lobbying organization that represents "big oil, pharmaceuticals and other billion-dollar corporations." It then claims that Thompson wants to give those companies "huge tax breaks, while he sticks Wisconsin families with the bill."
The ad ends with the narrator saying "If Thompson's fighting for them, he won't be fighting for us."
