Zerban campaign says it outraised Ryan in 3rd quarter
Rob Zerban's congressional campaign says the 1st CD Dem candidate outraised incumbent Paul Ryan in the latest fundraising period.
Al Benninghoff, Zerban's campaign manager, said in a conference call with reporters this afternoon that the campaign has already raised at least $770,000 between July and September and was still processing donations from the third quarter.
It's the first campaign finance period following Ryan joining Mitt Romney's presidential ticket. Ryan's congressional campaign earlier today announced raising $566,743 in the third quarter, and noted that it had suspended its fundraising activities after accepting the VP slot.
Benninghoff said the Zerban campaign now has raised just less than $2 million. He added that the campaign is preparing to go up on the air with TV ads.
"Turn on the TV on Saturday -- I guarantee you'll see it," Benninghoff said.
"It is going to be a lot, and it is going to cover the entire district."
